In many solar streetlight projects, the focus is primarily on the battery, solar panel, and even wattage. However, what truly determines the lifespan of a streetlight is the LED chip.

The LED chip is like the "heart" of the light fixture. If the chip is of poor quality, even with a good battery and solar panel, the overall lifespan of the light will be significantly shortened.

Judging the quality of LED chips typically involves three key indicators: luminous efficacy, lumens, and light decay.

First is luminous efficacy. Higher luminous efficacy means higher brightness at the same wattage, resulting in greater energy savings.

Second is lumens. Lumens represent the actual brightness emitted by the light fixture. Streetlights with sufficient lumens provide more uniform illumination and clearer road visibility at night.

Third is light decay. High-quality LED chips experience slower brightness decline over long-term use, allowing for stable operation for many years.

Good chips are not only brighter but also more stable and have a longer lifespan.

Therefore, when choosing solar streetlights, don't just look at the wattage and appearance; pay more attention to the quality of the LED light source. Sometimes, a single LED bulb determines the lifespan of a streetlight.
