High Mast Light

The core features of high mast lights lie in 'great height,wide coverage,and strong protection’.Their parameters mainly revolve around four core aspects:height adaptation,lighting coverage,structural durability,and outdoor resistance.Below ie a detailed classification and explanation of specific parameters for outdoor scenarios.


1.Basic Structural Parameters(Determine Installation and Environmental Adtability)

Structural parameters are directly related to the installation scenario,wind resistance,and environmrntal interference resistance of high mast lights,serving as the foundation for outdoor use.


Pole Height:The conventional range is 20-50m,which should be matched according to the coverage area.

20-25m:Suitable for squares and parking lots;

25-40m:Suitable for large urban squares,large parking lots,and highway service areas

40-50m;Suitable for open areas such as airporys,ports,and largr stadiums.

Pole Materia and Thickness:The mainstream material is Q235/Q355 steel.The anti-corrosion treatment adopts hot-dip galvanizing+electrostatic spraying(thickness≥85μm) to ensure no rusting for 5-10years outdoors.

The thickness of the pole increases with the height of the mast light— the thickness of a 20m pole is 6mm,a 30m poleis 8mm,and a 50m pole is 12mm.

Wind Resistance Level:It should comply with the wind speed standards of the installation area.The conbentional design has a wind resistance of Level 10(wind speed ≥32.7m/s),while coastal/typhoon-prone areas require an upgrade to Level 12(wind speed ≥45m/s).

Foundation Dimensions:Concrete embedding is adopted.the diameter and depth of the foundation increase with the pole height

for a 20m pole,the foundation diameter is ≥ 2m and depth is ≥ 2.5m;

for a 30m pole,the foundation diameter is ≥ 3m and depth is ≥3.5m;

for a 50m pole,the foundation diameter is ≥ 3.5m and depth is ≥4m.

Specific dimensions shall be based on the drawings and parameters provided by the local design institute.


2.Core Light Paramenters(Determine Lighting Effect)

Lighting parameters need to meet the requirements for brightness and uniformity in large outdoor areas,avoiding lighting dead zones.


Light Source Type and Power:The mainstresm is LED light sources,with a single lamp power of 200W-500w.A single pole can be equipped with 3-36 lamp heads,with a total power of 1500W-18000W.If the size of the lamp head.bracket is limited,COB integrated light sources(with higher luminous efficiency)can be used in some high-end scenarios.

Total Luminous Flux:The luminous flux of a single lamp head is 130lm/W(high-quality standard).For example,the luminous flux of a 100W lamp head is ≥ 13000lm.The tota luminous flux shall be calculated based on the coverage are — the total luminous flux of a 20m high mast light is usually100,000lm.

Color Temperature:The recommended range for outdoor scenarios is 3000K-6500K.

3000K-4000k(warm white lifht):Suitable for squares,residential areas,and toll station entrances,providing high visual comfort;

5000K-6500K(cool white light):Suitable for airports and ports,with strong prnrtration and high recognition at night.

Illuminance and uniformity:It shall comply with the standard GB/T 50520-2017.For example:

Squares:Average illuminance 20lx,uniformity 0.4;

Airport aprons:Average illuminance 50lx,uniformity 0.6

Light Distribution Method:'Wide-angle light distribution’ or ‘sysmmetrical light distribution’ is adopted to ensure uniform light coverage in circular/rectangular areas.The coverage radius is usually 1.5-2 times the pole height (eg.
the coverage radius of a 20m high mast light is 30m-40m).


3.Electrical and Protection Parameters(Determine Safety and Service Life)

The outdoor environmrnt is complex,and electrica and protection parameters directly affect the safety and durability of high mast lights.


Input Voltage:AC 380V for lrge industrial scenarios.

Driving Method:Constant current driving is adopted,with a driving efficiency ≥ 90% to prevent light source attenuation caused by current fuctuations.Some products are equipped with overvoltage,overcurrent,and overtemperature protection.

Protection Level:The lamp head has a protection level of ≥ IP65(completely dustproof and protected against water jets),and the driving power supply has a protection level of ≥ IP67(protected against short-term water immersion),ensuring resistance to outdoor conditions such as heavy rain,dust,and snow.

Lightning Protection Level:A lightning rod (complying with the standaed GB 50057) shall be installed on the top of the polr. The lightninig protection level is ≥ Class 2,and trh grounding resistance 4Ω to prevent internal circuit dmage caused by lightning strikes.


4.Additiona Functional Parameters(Enhance Practicality)

Additional functions can be selected according to scenario requirements to improve the intelligence and convenience of high mast lights.


Lifting System:High mast lights with a height of over 20m shall be equipped with an electric lifting system(equipped with a winch + steel wire rope ), with a lifting speed of 5-8m/min for convenient later maintenance.

Intelligent Control:Supports light control(automatic lighting at dusk),time control(setting on/off times),and remote control(adjusting brightness and checking status via 4G/5G/IOT platforms).

Heat Dissipation Design:The lamp head is equipped with aluminum heat dissipation fins or heat pipes to ensure the working temperature of the light source ≤ 60℃,ectending the LED service life(conventiona design life ≥ 50,000 hours).
