Road Intelligent Transportation Facilities Installation Project in Xisai Mountain District, Huangshi, Hubei: Traffic Efficiency & Safety Upgrade

Road Intelligent Transportation Facilities Installation Project in Xisai Mountain District, Huangshi, Hubei Province

1. Project Background

The traffic facilities in the old urban area of Xisai Mountain District were aging, and 11 intersections lacked intelligent control equipment, which affected traffic efficiency and safety. To upgrade traffic governance, an installation project was launched, covering 11 intersections (4 sets of facilities per intersection) with 86 sets of road signs, 44 sets of traffic signals, and electronic police/monitoring equipment.

2. Project Implementation

(1) Product Adaptation

Road Signs: 3M high-strength reflective film and hot-dip galvanized columns were adopted to ensure night visibility and corrosion resistance.

Intelligent Equipment: LED traffic signals, high-definition electronic police, and monitoring devices were configured to meet the full-area control needs of intersections.

(2) Efficient Advancement

The 90-day construction period was divided into four phases: 10 days to complete the survey and positioning of all poles; 35 days for simultaneous material customization and foundation construction; 30 days to organize construction teams to carry out half-width construction during the day and hoisting at night; and 15 days to complete lamp pole calibration, equipment commissioning and acceptance, with minimal traffic interference implemented throughout the process.

3. Project Achievements

Traffic Order: Traffic efficiency at intersections increased by 60%, the accident rate decreased by 95%, and citizens' sense of safety during travel was significantly enhanced.

Intelligent Management: Traffic police can remotely adjust traffic signals and view real-time monitoring, with the response speed for congestion handling increased by 80%.

Demonstration Value: It has become a benchmark for intelligent transportation upgrading in old urban areas, and its experience can be replicated and promoted.
